About Heyzel

Heyzel Herrera grew up in Apple Valley, Minnesota, along with two younger siblings. She currently resides in Ramsey County, Minnesota, with her significant other and dog. She is an activist in her local community, with a strong passion for healing in the outdoors.

Heyzel volunteers in local community events, advocating for safe spaces centered around the BIPOC and Immigrant community.  When she needs a moment to reset, you can find her healing in nature, taking deeper breaths, and brainstorming ways to help individuals heal after traumatic experiences.

Heyzel first joined Siblings of Murdered Siblings, after her brother was tragically murdered in 2019.

Heyzel is a native Spanish speaker and can assist family members in navigating the death of a loved one.
